When temperatures reach 32 degrees, everything around me starts to freeze
The glucose levels start to skyrocket in me and I allow myself to begin to freeze
My heart stops beating and my blood no longer flows
I’m technically dead for 7 months you know
My individual cells are still functioning fine
I stay frozen for up to 7 months before the cold declines
After 7 months with no heartbeat I do sing
I defrost my body and hop away in the spring
