What is it?:
Imagine something small and concave
With an LED bulb in the middle
That you attach to your phone;
Adjacent to this LED bulb would be a small sensor;
You cover a colored surface with this bulb
And the sensor would relay a “Magnitude of reflected lumens”
From this you could develop a science of color detection;
It would be rigid and Newtonian because
You would be basing the entire system off of a standarized rate of reflected lumen magnitude
But nonetheless it would become a major method of “Data Harvesting” to develop the new science of color detection
What are it's uses?:
From here you could develop an app and have it be a color hunting game
One person will find a unique shade and try to see if a friend can match it
This info would create a database of colors; assuming that the engineering was ok and we could stabilize results
We could even develop a science of time induced gradients;
How long it takes to reach a particular shade from unripeness to ripeness;
Measure amounts of nitrogen depletion in plants through the color…
The possibilities are endless:
We could measure camouflage changes in certain species…etc
