"West Coast" was kind of an extension of everything I'd been feeling so far on the record. It started with "Cruel World," which I felt like felt really West coast based 'cause of the guitars, the wah-wah guitars, and then having done "Brooklyn Baby," we went back to the West coast but kind of kept that easy-casual beat and got even slower.
