User Interview: dash lyrics
by Genius Users
dev: At last I have reached you, Mr. Genius. Can I call you dash?
dash: Hey brother. Of course. Let's drop the formalities
dev: Let's get right into it. First, how long have you been on Genius?
dash: Hey brother. Of course. I've been on genius since January 2023 - I heard a concert snippet and wanted to read the lyrics to it but, alas, they were not there. Thus began my scribing journey!
dev: I see. Now, after conducting some background research, I heard that you are an avid DDG listener. How does your music taste impact your work on Genius?
dash: I mean, let's clear this up. I do not listen to The Devil. However I do typically only work on music I actually enjoy to better my own listening experience. The only time I work on music I don't enjoy or don't care for is on a hot release night. The rush of claiming hot releases is to die for!!
dev: Rofl.
dash: Excuse me?
dev: Rofl means rolling on the floor laughing. Just slang, ykwim?
Ykwim means you know what i mean, you know what i mean?
dash: I guess. Just looks weird when you don't say real words. But continue on with the questions if you must.
dev: So I have also heard from my source that you make your own music. How is that going along?
dash: It's alright. Recently as I've been growing up I'm attempting to reach out to The Alchemist to work on a collab album. Trying to get in my introspective jazz bag haha.
dev: Well, good luck with that! It seems that you are an avid user of the social media platform X. I just wanted some analysis on some of your past viral posts. First off: "One hawk out of tuah"
dash: Hahaha i love this segment. I remember that like it was just a couple weeks ago. That's obviously a play on the viral "Hawk tuah" meme sensation. in this case i'm also using "one out of two" however the 2 = Tuah 😊
Like if you think about it 👅
dev: Nah, I feel you.
To wrap this interview up, I just wanted to hear a little four-bar freestyle. You think you could do that for me? Your penmanship and all?
dash: Ayy for sure bro. Let me put a beat on
Alright. Here goes nothing, ayy, ayy
I'm a lyrical genius, words dance on the beat
I paint a picture with rhymes, a masterpiece so sweet
Through the struggles and pain, I find my strength
In this freestyle rap, my spirit extends its length
dev: Ok bye
