GASmaster29: Hey Juggernaut! how has your day been?

BritishJuggernaut: It’s been great! How’s it been for you?

GASmaster29: good enough nothing remarkable but I can’t complain.

First i want to say thank you for being a part of the Nerdcore clean-up with me! I know we are not very organized (imo) but it is fun to have someone else with the same passion as me! ("Passion"= just as nerdy as me lmao).

BritishJuggernaut: Yes of course! It’s been great doing this project since Nerdcore artists pages have been real messy.
Loved to see someone else willing to help with this, and for it to be an editor nonetheless!

GASmaster29: And my day just got better 😊. Now let’s get started! Ready?

BritishJuggernaut: Yes, I am ready! Let’s this thing started

GASmaster29: Alright. now prepare for this first question…There is only one correct answer….Waffles or Pancakes???

BritishJuggernaut: Pancakes are definitely better, I know a few Nerdcore artists who are agree as well. Anyone who thinks otherwise is objectively wrong ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

GASmaster29: Glad we are on the same page! Hate to have to ruin our friendship because you were dead wrong, glad I don’t have to worry about that!
Alright, so what got you started on Genius?

BritishJuggernaut: Well, I joined Genius back in 2022 but never really did anything on it. It wasn’t until around August 2024 that I went onto the site and did my first song, which was Eurydice from the Netflix series Kaos. It racked up 50K views.
After that I did some Zayde Wolf songs since they were either not scribed or just totally wrong.
But it wasn’t until around December 2024 that I started working on Genius every day, and that’s because Genius introduced me to the Nerdcore genre.
GASmaster29: Similar to my beginnings! Nerdcore is an extremely underrated genre. Why do you love it so much? What about the genre infatuates you?

BritishJuggernaut: I have to say the biggest thing about the genre that I love isn’t actually the music, it’s the community. Since I discovered the genre, I started to go on socials and interact with the community. Even got so much so that I interact with some of the artists themselves.
The music itself thought is awesome as well. Each artist has a unique feel to their music, I couldn’t name two artists that are similar. The songs itself are great for non-Nerdcore fans as well, as you could still listen to the music without knowing anything from the IP that it’s based on.

GASmaster29: Dude you HAVE to introduce me sometime! And I know how you feel; even if I don’t know the exact reference, it still sounds good and I can get an idea of what they are talking about!
Let’s get more into your Genius activities. Why did you pursue the transcriber role?

BritishJuggernaut: It started because I noticed there weren’t a lot of people in the Nerdcore community with transcriber+. I got interested in the role after seeing in too many songs that there are many ways I could help. Most of these were LEPs that never got seen, incorrect lyrics that I couldn’t edit, or incorrect metadata, sometimes even all three in one song.

GASmaster29: “Weren’t a lot of transcriber+” 💀 More like any. I can’t tell you how many times I have come across my OWN LEPs from years ago 😭. Well thank you for your effort, your a great transcriber and I could not do the clean-up without you because…let’s just say my transcription prowess leave much to be desired.

What bout the editor role ⭐? you have pretty good annotations so it is a possibility?

BritishJuggernaut: I’ve asked a couple editors and they said that I’m definitely capable of the editor role.
The only thing is that the moderator I asked thinks I could still use some improvement before I get it, recommending me to get mentored instead. And there’s the other problem, nobody’s available to mentor or is unwilling to mentor me.
I will keep going until I get editor, but right now it’s looking dim on the possibility of getting it anytime soon.

GASmaster29: Well, I am always open to help out! And I am sure a few people who will read this can at least give a few pointers or even mentor you! Keep striving for it and one day your effort will be rewarded!

Alright so what do you do for fun? Any (weird) hobbies you have?

BritishJuggernaut: I do a LOT of gaming for fun, so much so that it’s being an addiction lol. But I’m also getting into making music, rapping/singing, and making AMVs (Animated Music Videos).
I wouldn’t really say any of my hobbies are entirely weird. But I do collect a lot of baseball cards and I collect Steelbook cases for my physical games.

GASmaster29: I feel like gaming is something most of us do here lmao. Nah those hobbies aren’t weird at all!
OOOH, you make your own music? Can’t wait to see your AMVs! Plan on sharing with us?

BritishJuggernaut: For now the only two songs I have uploaded was “produced” by me. Produced is in quotations because while I did make the beat, I had extreme help from some others who were teaching me. I do have a single that’ll be uploaded hopefully this month, followed up by a deluxe album for that song.
And the two I produced was sang by other people, since I haven’t started rapping/singing yet lol.

GASmaster29: Man, I can’t wait! Partially cuz I wanna hear somebody’s voice on the site lmao.

So tell us, what are some of your favourite artist? Nerdcore related and non-nerdcore as welL! (If it is stressful to rank them you don’t have to lol)

BritishJuggernaut: Too hard to rank lol. But my top 5 favorite Nerdcore artists gotta be Rustage, Oricadia, Nina Hope, Keetheweeb, and JT Music. My top 5 favorite non-Nerdcore artists are definitely Zayde Wolf, grandson, Linkin Park, Kendrick Lamar, and Eminem.

GASmaster29: Oooh my man K. Dot! and the white devil himself, Eminem! great picks all around. Which Nerdcore artist would you most recommend to others? and which Non-Nerdcore artist would you recommend?

BritishJuggernaut: Would definitely recommend Rustage, especially all of his new stuff. He’s a British Nerdcore rapper that makes insane beats and grabs great features on his songs. His more recent stuff is top tier and there’s isn’t a single miss.
I would definitely recommend grandson as well, he’s a Canadian hip-hip/rap artist that makes music based on the political and economic state of the world. But all of his songs are bangers, definitely go listen to Blood // Water and Oh No!!!
Honorable mention to Nina Hope, definitely in my top 3 favorite artists of all time. She’s a Slovakian Nerdcore singer who has an amazing voice, all of her songs are amazing but her newest stuff is amazing! Would recommend the song Feed The Fire which she is featured on, the main artist being Rustage as well!

Now the last few questions! Who are your favorite people on genius? Any buddies and friends? (other than me ofc 😁)

BritishJuggernaut: Favorite people is hard to say, wouldn’t say I favor anyone over anyone else.
But people I would consider friends… ooh, extensive list. Obviously you, but also grafiXal, toxi, shark, Daktar, Crackshaw, SarahComeHome, ChadLikesPasta, Sammmm, Charlotte, MainVillain, and kingsneak.
I think that’s about it, hope I didn’t forget anyone!

Now, what do you like most about Genius and what do you not like, or wish could be better? Plenty on both sides
BritishJuggernaut: I love the community, that’s for sure. Everyone I’ve talked to is really friendly and helpful, love to just chat with them on a daily basis.
I do wish the mentoring system would be better. It’s hard for new users to get transcriber/editor to find a mentor or a mod that would be able to promote them.
I struggled with finding someone to promote me to transcriber, and I was lucky to find it within a month of searching. I’ve seen people search for a year and still find none. I’m even struggling to find an editor to mentor me as I mentioned previously, so I think all-around the mentoring system could be better.

GASmaster29: Well the new mentoring spreadsheet should make it easier to find a mentee so I really hope it helps people! Mentoring has been a problem for a long time sadly. I was lucky cause all the mods I asked responded to me and gave me feedback lol. I recommend users who read this to by sympathetic to others and try to help mentor others! (Insert quote from Ewok about mentoring). Well I am sorry but my pancakes are almost done! One last question, and the same one Dubrix asked me…are we getting a dark mode to help our eyes??? 😭

BritishJuggernaut: Man I sure hope so, as a mobile user my eyes are destroyed since we can’t have extensions for that 😭😭
