As you may know, Genius is a platform that promotes inclusiveness and tries to make everyone feel safe in terms of social interaction. One of these groups of people are visually impaired users - and that's why we should try to improve their experience around here.
Visually impaired users often use a screen reader, which is a software that reads what is written on the screen. Unfortunately, most softwares can't tell what is on images. But there is something we can do about it! By adding an alternative description to gifs and images, the screen reader can read out what is displayed for users to understand what they might not see.

This guide will focus on the different methods we can use to add alternative descriptions and improve accessibility.Lyrics on the Song Page (Non-Music)The formatting system used in the lyrics of the song pages is HTML: Click here to know how to add alternative descriptions with this language.Sometimes headers or banners are used as titles of the main sections on a page. You want to make sure that there are navigation annotations on those headers, otherwise you will not be able to add alternative descriptions. Make sure that what the image explains can be clearly understood.Describe your image: Are there people on your picture? What are they doing?
