The Pumpkin Song lyrics
by Sushi Soucy
[Verse 1]
On the skirts of the Pumpkin Town
A forest lay twelve acres down
And sometimes at the forest edge
The Pumpkin King would rear his head
[Verse 2]
The people of the town would flee
And the mayor of Pumpkin Town decreed
That no one step foot out of bounds
The ones she drew around the town
[Verse 3]
The Pumpkin King, he had a child
He raised him to be fierce and wild
He had no friends for miles and miles
He scared them off just with his smile
[Verse 4]
It got so lonely in those woods
It seemed like no one understood
That deep inside his pumpkin heart
He wanted to be good!
[Verse 5]
Then one day the mayor's kid
Even after what the mayor did
Traveled to the forest edge
And what they saw filled them with dread
[Verse 6]
At first, the Pumpkin ran away
But then came back on the next day
The Pumpkin had a change of heart
And so their friendship starts!
[Verse 7]
Time had passed, they made a plan
The mayor's kid would lift the ban
And all the cryptids in the woods
Would be welcomed in the town for good
[Verse 8]
The two of them were fully grown
They planned to take the mayor's throne
Then, together, hand in hand
The two of them would rule the land
[Verse 9]
The Pumpkin King
Was less than pleased
He told his son
That he was weak
'Cause friendship was
A major sin
In their pumpkin
Religion
[Verse 10]
And so the pumpkin ran away
And then the mayor died that day
[Verse 11]
They spent their happy pumpkin lives
Holding hands and hiding knives
