The Arc of History (Ft. Curt Mega, Jackie Franco, James Tolbert, Jeff Blim, Jesse Bhamrah, Kim Whalen, Mariah Rose Faith, Matt Dahan, Natalie Masini, & Virginia Vass) lyrics
by Pulp Musicals
[NARRATOR]
Samuel opened his notebook
And wrote down a few simple words
As fog poured into the room
Slowly taking form
Gathering into the shape of a man
Kal cracked a smile
Samuel stood his ground
With notebook firmly in hand
[KAL, spoken]
Hm. Just as I thought
(sung)
You hide inside your imagination
Tucked within the comfort of your pages
But the truth is that some people are just
Meant to be unremarkable
They exist only to doc*ment
Other people's stories
It's their fate to bear witness
To the arc of history
[ADDISON, flashback]
Bеware the purple button
It's only to bе used when the situation's dire
It purges the room of atmosphere...
[SAMUEL]
We control our own fate
And our story lives on
[NARRATOR, spoken]
Samuel pushes the purple button
(click)
The entire room depressurizes
Kal is once again shattered into fog, his every molecule purged from the cabin into the cold vacc*m of space
[KAL, spoken]
NOOOOO!!
[NARRATOR, spoken]
In the c*ckpit, the controls roar back to life
(systems engage)
[ADDISON, spoken]
The hull is stablizing!
[HERSCHEL, spoken]
Samuel did it!
[ADDISON, spoken]
Systems are coming back online, damage reports from all over the ship
[AHLAAM, spoken]
But we're going to make it
[DAKKAR, spoken]
Resume course to the nearest vortex. We must get to the gates before they do
[ADDISON, spoken]
Readouts say there's no trace of fog on board. Wait... this can't be... Samuel... Samuel, he-
[ROSE, spoken]
Samuel what?
[AHLAAM, spoken]
...Oh no
[ROSE, spoken]
Samuel what?
[SIA, spoken]
He saved us all. He saved us all, Rose
[ROSE, spoken]
(crying)
Open the door!
(banging)
Open this door right now!
[TOP]
(whines)
[ADDISON, spoken]
Re-prussurizing...
[ROSE, spoken]
Hurry! HURRY!!
(door opens)
(rapid footsteps)
[NARRATOR, spoken]
The airtight door unlocks and slides open. Rose rushes down the stairs and holds her brother in her arms. Samuel is dead
[ROSE, spoken]
Samuel? Samuel, no, you can't do this to me. Come back- come back, you promised...
[NARRATOR, spoken]
Herschel notices that Samuel is still clutching onto his notebook. He opens it to the final page and reads Samuel's last words
[HERSCHEL, spoken]
"You know where to find me."
[Chorus]
Mobilis in Mobili
Mobilis in Mobil
[SAMUEL (radio)]
