The leaves all fall and fall as from afar,
As if a garden withered out in heaven,
They're falling all in negatory flight.
This heavy earth is falling through the night
In solitude away from every star.
We all fall. That hand's falling as we stand.
Look: here the other. So it is with all.
Yet there is One whose fingers keep this Fall
Endlessly softly caught in his calm hand.
