A Lot About Nothing lyrics

by

Heather P Wilson

I decided to attempt a rhyme
To amuse myself today,
Sadly my pen grew heavy
As my brain had little it would say.

Enthusiastically I sat down
Determined I would win,
Surely a few syllables would join
To help form a tale that I could spin.

After many wasted minutes
There was little I could show,
Yet, I really made an effort
Thought I`d let you know.

Even the one verse I had written
I knew I would disown,
When self doubt creeps in
That seed is often sown.

I took a refresher break
Wine sometimes does the trick,
Yet, after half a bottle
My rhyme looked anything but slick.

Then it really struck me
Most words were wrong in every line,
What a relief that was
I thought the fault was mine.
