The mystery to ancient man
About our precious earth,
The years he was fooled
About its size and girth,
The belief our world was flat
Must have been a fair mistake
As water flowed across the sea
Also settled in a lake.
What a shock it must have been
To scientists one and all
When they learnt the lot of us
Were living on a ball.
