n*gger Babys lyrics

by

Richard Pryor

[Intro]

Announcer: "Let's have a nice round of applause, as we bring out to the bandstand—onto the stage... Mr. Richard Pryor!"

(live band plays to applause)

Richard Pryor: (whispering) Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. And I'm very happy that you came here... I would like to make you laugh, I would like to make you cry, I would like to make you...

I'm very happy to be here. I'm very happy to be here. I am very happy to be here.

Life's a bowl of cherries. That's what some pervert wrote. (laughs) Some guy hangin' around a girl's school, right? Y'know... In an old Ford coupe, (laughs) right? With a newspaper over his lap.

Guy: "Life is just a bowl of cherries!"

Pryor: Yeah.

I hung out with some beautiful cats, some super n*ggas, when I was a kid. I remember when I was a kid, my father used to tell me, "Don't go hangin' out with them n*ggas, now!"

(laughs)

You remember when it was a store... they used to sell n*gga babies in the store? I remember that, man, I used to go to the store: "Can I have a dime's worth of n*gga babies?" (sound effect)

Well, nowadays they think kids are progressive, because kids go: "Uh, can I have a dime's worth of negro children, please? Thank you very much—Charge it! Hmm..."

(mutters)
