Hello spectator; farewell serenity
I could shout less
But then you'd just talk over me
And I need attention
"I'm just another kid with a guitar,"
And if you're searching for a light
Don't expect me to spark
I will soon die out
My voice will give in
I'll get a real job
Dream of where I've been
While you're comfortable
I'll be catching up
Contemplating death
When I've wasted life long enough
I was seventeen when I invested love
In this make-believe
Life turned to cluster-f*ck
But I'm in good company;
I've got that at least
So I'll make my impression
In hopes you'll remember me
But if there's light behind the storm
I'll never halt progression
I will live past all misfortune
And deplete all adolescence
Having deep poetic heart
Lacking all poetic fame
I'll keep clandestine for eternity
And no one will speak my name
