Shakespeare shows Cassius personality and characteristics in to important ways talking about his political beliefs and his Motives behind the choices he makes. Cassius is a dangerous individual who is hungry for power. He thinks Caesar is a pity person and is too good for everyone else, Rome likes Caesar and Cassius is here to destroy him, by using Brutus as his shield.
Cassius hated the way Caesar had so much power and the people cherished him. Cassius ask Brutus why is his name more important than everyone else when Caesar name has the same vault. “ What should be in that ‘ Caesar? Why should that name be sounded more (Cassius speech). Cassius wants to know why Caesar name holds more weight. Cassius and Caesar name seems to be the same, why is his more valued. Write them together, yours is as fair of a name: Sound them, it both will become the mouth as well (Cassius Speech). Cassius is saying that Caesar name is the same level as his, why is his treated different. Cassius wants his name to be treated the same as Caesar. Cassius should just let Caesar be with his name being so popular.
Cassius thought Brutus was too powerful and had all the power. Cassius is saying Brutus and Caesar are the same why should Caesar be more important if they bleed the same and are both capable of leading people “Weigh them, it is as heavy: conjure with them Brutus will start a spirit as soon as Caesar” (Cassius Speech). Cassius says Brutus is the same as Caesar one day he will be in Caesar spot. Cassius says there name is equal and both mean something to Rome. Cassius is saying what did Caesar eat that made him so powerful. “Upon what meat doth this our Caesar feed, that he is grown so great”. Cassius is jealous of Caesar cause he is strong and everyone one like him. He envies Caesar and feels that he must manipulate Brutus and others into killing him.
These aspects shows why Cassius wanted Caesar gone, Why he had to be more specialized than others. I showed how Shakespeare uses Cassius Personal and political beliefs.
