Folk Nation started in the Joliet correctional facility and it's original founders were David Barksdale and Larry Hoover. It united black,latino and white gangs together under one alliance. Folk Nation rivals People Nation and outside of Chicago is allied with the Crips,BGF, and Hoover Criminals.

Identifiers:
Folks do everything to the right,wear accessories to the right or on the right,gang signs thrown to the right, everything to the right. Folks will also greet each other with the term "All is one".
